Adam House Tavern (Formally known as Loyal Oak Tavern) May 15, 2008
3044 Wadsworth Rd.
Norton, OH
The Adam House Tavern was built in 1840. The Adam House Tavern interior is a stunning extinct wormy chestnut décor.
No wonder why the spirits refuse to leave the building. The Tavern was a hotel per the inscription on the third floor wall
signed by Ray Wilhelm, a bartender in 1886.In the late 1880’s, the Tavern was a Children’s Infirmity. In 1911-1912
the business was operated by Jack Lozier and his mother. In 1920’s, the Tavern was a “speak easy”. In 1930-1940,
the tavern was known as Adam’s Place after the owner, Adam Pinter. Today, the restaurant is run by Mr. and Mrs. George
Sherwood. The building has seen history, happy times and sorrow.
Soon after the birth of the hotel, the basement served as an “Underground Railroad”. Unsettling rumors
plagued the hotel, the deaths of three run away slaves kept in the corner of the damp and cold cellar. The slaves keep no
secret to their demise to this day. Psychic, Corrine Weseehke, hear their cries for water. The manager, Raphael Peoples, states
that glasses filled with water move from one place to another in basement. Maybe, the hands’ of the three slaves thirst
for water in the afterlife as well as they did hiding hoping for the road to freedom that never occurred.
A presence that engulfs feelings of helplessness is felt in the back upper room. During an investigation conducted
by PSI2, clairvoyant, Shelby Lyn’s shirt sleeve was pulled by unseen presences. Guests watched in amazement, there is
no explanation for the event that just occurred before their eyes.
In 1886, Ray Wilhelm hung himself from the hotels’ chandelier. Mr. Wilhelm become aware that he was not the only
suited to his love of his life. A love triangle formed for the heart of the sweet maiden developed. The lovely lady decided
that the other gentleman could provide her a better life. Depressed and grief striking, Mr. Wilhelm plunged into a great despair
and ended his life. His spirit remains at the tavern hopefully waiting for the return of his love.
In 1919, the eighteen amendments were passed. The era became known as the Prohibition Era. The tavern transformed into
a ‘speakeasy’. The basement was flooded with illegal drinkers and prostitution. The basement contains many turns
and rooms to conceal liquor and madman of the night.
One madam of the night has made the Adam’s House her favorite place of business. The ‘lady in blue’
was a prostitute. For some reason, the lady in blue paces back and forth. On
an investigation, Peter DeCrane, of PSI2, felt the madam’s hand touch his hand. At another visit, Mr. DeCrane felted
a cold spot on his lap. Two other members took pictures; hence, the pictures collaborated and verified the presence of the
lady sitting on Mr.. DeCrane’s lap.
After the prohibition, Adam Pinter bought the tavern. Mr. Pinter is still making rounds to ensure the quality of the
tavern is accordance of his establishment of the past. C
session of ‘table communication, guests and staff observed a table violently moving in response to the psychic’s
questions. It is very likely that bodies remain buried in the tavern’s parking lot. A picture taken by Mr. DeCrane,
displays a shadowy figure points to his disturbing rest place of the parking lot. Mr. Caduff, co-founder of PSI2, noticed
that the church’s graveyard is misplaced. Mr. Caduff states that all the church graveyard that he has observed lie on
the side of the building. During our team’s research, PSI2 has discovered that many of the poor are forgotten. These
souls reside in unmarked graves of simply left behind. Sometimes, tombstones or markers are moved to a different location,
but the bodies remain.
